The return of goalkeeper Leon Thompson from injury spurred Vision U11 to produce the best performance of the season to defeat a strong Linthwaite outfit 5-0 . The pace of the two front men James Dennisson and Tom Bentham proved too much at times for the Linthwaite defence as the pair scored a goal a peace in the first half , with winger Ryan Whitfield scrambling a third to make it 3-0 at half time .At the other end of the pitch Man of the Match stopper Leon Thompson gave the defence some much needed confidence as his command of the area frustrated all Linthwaite attacking efforts. The second half saw the midfield led by James Morris continue to thread through balls to the two front men – though at times there was a tendency to over elaborate rather than go direct for goal. Two more goals did come – a long range shot from powerful midfielder Caden Wilkinson and a superb effort from James Dennisson who outpaced the defence before blasting it past the keeper to notch his second. A much improved effort and a very good result in what on paper was a difficult fixture. |
