Match report submitted by Mark Bentham The U11 got back to winning ways with a 6-2 victory against Batley , though at times it was not all that convincing against a team who had lost 10-0 the previous week . Tom Bentham scored the first two goals – the second being a mazy dribble before colliding with the goalkeeper and the ball trickling over the line – he also missed the chance of a first half hat trick with a Ronnie Rosenthal miss – ballooning the ball over an unguarded net from 2 yards . However after each goal Batley responed and took advantage of poor defending to score two soft goals .James Morris ensured Vision reached half time ahead with a close range shot. The second half saw Vision playing down the slope and the team work became better with man of the match Ryan Whitfield making probing runs down the right flank . Goals came from Callum Docherty (2) and a headerfrom James Dennison. The defence looked lightly more assured in the second half but did not come under sustained pressure to really test them . A confidence boosting win after last week but the players are taking time to settle in and sterner tests will come.
