| Vision u11- 3 --- YMCA u11- 6 |
|---|
Match report submitted by Mark Bentham The match actually began well for Vision with a good break from James Dennison, whose pace troubled YMCA all day, ending in an early goal. However YMCA then took control of the midfield and though man of the match Ben Adams marshalled the new look defence they were unable to halt the powerful midfield runners of YMCA who scored three unanswered goal Vaughan Williams who shared the goalkeeping responsibilities with Jo Speed was powerless to stop any of the goals. Vision’s performance was not helped by a continuing stream of injuries leading to substitutions which destroyed any coherence as players consistently had to change position. The second half continued in much the same vain with a robust YMCA having more of the play and Vision threatening on the break. James Morris scored two goals in the half but Vision rarely looked like being able to overturn YMCA’s lead who scored another three goals during the half. Overall a week to forget and the team are still clearly bedding in – but needs to improve quickly if it is going to retain its title.
