Lepton Highlanders U13B = 0 Vision U13 = 6
Report Submitted by Mark Benthem

Vision put a morale boosting display to record a comfortable victory and keep a clean sheet.

The opening first half was fairly uneventful affair though Vision always looked the most likely to score with Cameron Bedford hitting the post with an effort from 10 yards. Neither side though were able to break the deadlock .The half time score was 0 -0 with little indication of what was to follow.

Vision opened the scoring early in the second half when a goal mouth scramble from a corner was finally turned in by James Dennison via a deflection. A second soon followed again from a corner with Cameron Bedford stabbing the ball home which trickled over the line.
From then on in Vision began to play more effective football prompted by the running and passing on the wing by joint man of the match Tom Bentham. Cameron Bedford added the third and fourth with strong shots in to the corner of the net after he was found twice unmarked in the penalty area. Ben Norde added a fifth, again with a powerful shot from ten yards out and the scoring was finally completed when defender Adil Hussain in a rare foray up front was brought down in the area and stepped up to score himself with a confident penalty kick to claim his first goal in Vision colours.
Throughout the half any threat from Lepton was quickly quashed by the strong Vision defence and the closest they came to breaking their duck was when joint man of the match James Dennison cleared off the line.

A terrific second half display that showed what could be done when the team plays with more composure and confidence.
