Vision began their campaign with a workmanlike if unspectacular performance against Dewsbury. The team saw Danny Patchett deputising in goal and Vaughan Williams and Kieran Evans making their debuts. The first half was an evenly contested affair with Vision opening the scoring with a low drive by James Morris only to be pegged back by a Dewsbury equaliser soon after – it looked as though the first half would end all square however a clever chip from Callum Dochertey just before the break meant Vision went in 2-1 to the good. The second half saw Vision extend their lead with two more goals from midfielder James Morris to complete an opening day hat trick . Dewsbury pulled one back to make it 4-2 but James Dennison restored the 3 goal advantage after a fine passing move. Dewsbury scored with the last kick of the game to make it a 5-3 scoreline. Caden Wilkinson won the man of the match award for a faultless performance in the centre of defence. |
